G17 Heading to Far West Regionals in Hawaii! For the third consecutive season, Beach Futbol Club will be represented in the Far West Regional Championships by their Girls 95 age group. The team advanced by virtue of winning the Far West Regional League Spring edition after finishing runners up in the fall. Congratulations players, coaches, and parents on this fabulous achievement and best of luck in National Cup! GO BEACH!

BFC Commitments Wednesday, February 6th marked National Letter of Intent Day for high school seniors around the nation. Beach Futbol Club is excited to announce both the boys and girls college commitments for the graduating class of 2013. For these dedicated players, countless hours of training, attention to their studies, and personal sacrifice have propelled them to a rewarding future as collegiate student-athletes. READ MORE

ODP Winter Pools In late October, the Cal South Pro+ program announced its selections for its 2012-2013 ODP Winter Pools. Players were selected for player pools in five age brackets: 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000. Beach Futbol Club is proud to announce that eight young ladies from within the club were selected to be a part of this elite group. Beach Futbol Club will be represented at the 1996, 1998, 1999, and 2000 age groups.

Beach FC G14’s and G15’s Win LHSC Eclipse College Showcase - Congratulations to the Beach Gold 97’s and Beach North 98’s for their successful weekend at the Laguna Hills Eclipse College Showcase.

Player Highlight

Princeton bound Katie Pratt-Thompson, Beach FC U-17 central-defender, is an imposing presence for Beach. Her athleticism, leadership and competitive spirit have anchored a back line that is almost impenetrable, leading her team to as high as #3 in the national ranking this season (currently #6). The team will be vying for the coveted USYSA National Championship throughout the spring and summer.

While leading Long Beach Wilson to a CIF Championship this past season as a junior, Katie was named First Team All Moore League and First Team All CIF, while contributing six goals and two assists from a holding midfield role.

Scholarship is also one of Katie’s values. She has a particular interest in History and English and hopes to go to law school after college. Katie is a link crew member at Wilson and sings alto with the Wilson Chamber Singers. She also enjoys doing volunteer work through the local Long Beach non-profit, Volunteens, along with several other teammates. Katie volunteers with Beach FC sometimes, helping with younger teams and loves to travel to her family’s farm in Virginia whenever possible.
